Here is a idea for guys who don't want to commit with a full skirt at a Contra Dance. Tie a sweater around your waist and turn it around in front like an apron. Good idea!

Skirting into the Future is about men rocking skirts and kilts, myself included. This blog is about fashion freedom and support for men who wear skirts and kilts. It has become very popular for guys to wear long skirts and kilts at Contra Dances across the country. It's all about breaking tradition and putting on a skirt! I invite both men and women to comment, offer their support and share their experiences. And finally, I try to not take things so seriously - I like to have fun with fashion!
Good and truly trustful article. I remember when I wore first time skirt in public, 6 years ago. What was happen? Nothing, people were friendly and I got a lot of very nice comments which I didn't expected at this time.
ReplyDeleteI do not have any experience with long skirts, my most longest skirt has 22 ,5 inches which I wore (black) with black stockings to a concert. People liked it very much and congratulated me for being so brave and courage.
I believe that skirts for men will have a future when men will find out that a skirted garment are the most comfortable and healthy kind of clothes they can wear. Just think about male body and anatomy would give the answer that any kind of pants must be totally wrong.
ReplyDeleteI can not judge what kind of skirt length might be the right/appropriate one but I think going on with the length of the shorts that must be between 17 and 23 inches long.

Skirting into future, YES, but men must take this step. It is about health and personal comfort, avoiding diseases. Why men waiting so long? Are they afraid to take the right step into their positive future? When I see that clip above and see how good men looking in skirts, I am just wonder that men hesitate
ReplyDeleteSkirty, I know you are right. I am a skirt/kilt wearer, too.I got uncountable wonderful comments about my outfit and I still can't understand that men afraid to wear skirted garments.
ReplyDeleteI would say that is an issue for future talking about skirts and taking advantage. But how man men will read it and follow?
I always hear words like this "I think I'll try it" but nothing is happen.

I wear skirts regularly in Australia. Men can have the same freedom in fashion as women, women can wear pants that were mens garments in a feminine way, so men can also wear skirts in masculine. It use to be only 60 years ago, socially unacceptable for women to wear pants but now it is completely normal, and so it will be with skirts for men. Although, men need to step up and own it and wear skirts in a manly way and soon we will also break this silly sacial taboo. ROME WAS NOT BUILT IN A DAY, BUT IT WAS BUILT BY MEN IN SKIRTS!
